The Tapo L520E smart bulb gives daylight white light with smooth brightness control from the app. It connects to Wi-Fi directly without a hub and supports schedules, timers and an away mode where the light switches itself on to imitate someone being home. The bulb remembers the last brightness and uses noticeably less energy than an incandescent lamp of the same output.

Does this bulb need a hub?
No, it connects to Wi-Fi directly. A hub is only needed for the sensors and switches in the range.
What happens if the internet goes down?
The bulb keeps working from the ordinary wall switch. Schedules and remote control resume when the connection returns.
Can the light tone be changed?
This model gives 4000K white light with brightness control. For changing tone and color there are other models in the range.
