CRS326-24S+2Q+RM is a 1U rack switch: twenty-four SFP+ ports at 10 Gbps and two QSFP+ at 40 Gbps. Everything is optical, with no copper data ports — this is aggregation and core-layer hardware. The twenty-four ten-gigabit ports cover the servers in the rack, the storage system and the links down to access switches. The forty-gigabit QSFP+ go upstream — to the core router or the neighbouring rack — so the uplink does not become the bottleneck at full load. Switching is done in hardware, so throughput does not depend on CPU load. Management is SwOS or RouterOS, at the engineer's choice.
