CRS310-1G-5S-4S+IN combines five 1 Gbps SFP ports with four 10 Gbps SFP+ — a switch for a network where some links have already moved to ten gigabit while others still run at one.
A typical scenario: five fiber links to buildings or floors at gigabit and four ten-gigabit links to servers and the uplink. You neither overpay for an all-10G switch nor hit the ceiling of a gigabit-only model.
The case is passive and fanless, so the unit can sit in a room where noise would be a problem. Management is through RouterOS: VLANs, routing, firewall, traffic monitoring.
