Perimeter security: from the fence line to the response

Perimeter protection detects an intruder before they reach the building: sensors and video analytics watch the fence, gates and approaches. SAT Solutions designs and installs perimeter systems for warehouses, plants, logistics yards, farms and private estates: vibration cable on the fence fabric, infrared and microwave barriers, thermal imagers and IP cameras with line-crossing analytics.

The work starts not with choosing a sensor but with drawing the boundary the system is responsible for. At a warehouse or logistics base that line coincides with the fence; at a plant an inner contour is added around workshops, the fuel store and the substation; in a residential estate the approaches from the street and the vehicle entrance matter most. That map drives both technology and budget: there is no need to cover the whole perimeter with the most expensive sensor — each direction only needs what actually works there.

We hand over a perimeter system as part of the site's security loop rather than as a set of sensors on a fence: an activation goes to the intruder alarm, to the guard post and to the mobile app, and the event itself is stored together with the video that lets you review it later. Turnkey installation across Tashkent and all of Uzbekistan, warranty on equipment and workmanship, and the system kept under a maintenance contract.

Technology follows the line of defence. First line — the fence: vibration-sensing cable on the fabric catches climbing and cutting. Second — the exclusion strip: IR and microwave barriers close gaps and straight runs up to hundreds of metres. Third — approaches and grounds: IP cameras with line-crossing analytics and human/vehicle classification (AcuSense on Hikvision, WizSense on Dahua) filter out animals and birds, while thermal imagers detect a person in complete darkness, fog and smoke at ranges ordinary optics cannot reach.

A proper perimeter is reaction, not just sensors: an alarm slews the PTZ camera to the point, fires a floodlight or strobe siren, and sends a verification frame to the post and the mobile app. False alarms are suppressed by dual confirmation — an alarm counts when two independent lines see it. We design zones so patrol rounds and weather do not wake the guards in vain — and hand over the system with a zone map and operator instructions.

The cost of a perimeter system is set by the length of the line and the chosen technology: vibration cable is the most affordable per meter, beam barriers cost more but close hundreds of meters with a pair of units, and thermal imagers are the priciest item, so they go pointwise onto critical directions. Terrain, fence condition and the availability of power along the line also affect the price; an engineer's site survey and calculation in Tashkent are free.

A perimeter is a seasonal system: in summer sensitivity is smothered by grass and overgrown branches, in winter by snow on the cable and icing of the barriers. So we hand over the system with a zone map and per-season settings, and under a service contract we re-verify sensitivity, beam alignment and optics cleanliness twice a year. That is how the system holds its main balance for years: miss no intruder and wake no guard over every cat.

Typical solutions

Three lines of perimeter protection

Every site is priced individually: describe the task or send a plan — we will return a quote with an exact estimate within one business day.

Perimeter video analytics

Courtyard, warehouse, parking lot

  • IP cameras with a virtual line
  • Person/vehicle filtering, no false alarms
  • A siren and floodlight on event
  • Phone notifications with a frame

Time: 2–5 days

Sensors on the fence

Plant, depot, farm

  • Vibration cable on the fence
  • Beam barriers on open stretches
  • A trigger slews the PTZ camera
  • Zones with a map for the guard post

Time: 1–2 weeks

A combined line

Airport, power plant, large site

  • Two independent lines with confirmation
  • Thermal imagers on critical directions
  • Integration with the intrusion alarm
  • Seasonal re-tuning under contract

Time: per design

Questions & answers

Frequently asked questions

What is perimeter security?
A set of sensors, alarm detectors and cameras along the site boundary that detects an intrusion attempt at an early stage.
What technologies are used?
Infrared barriers, vibration and capacitive sensors, thermal and analytics cameras — selected for the terrain and area.
Does it integrate with video surveillance?
Yes, a perimeter alarm automatically brings up video from the relevant zone for the operator.
