The MikroTik CRS317-1G-16S+RM is an aggregation 10G switch: sixteen SFP+ cages and a gigabit management port in a passively cooled 1U rack body. It is the heart of a fiber network: links from floors, buildings and servers converge here — with zero fan noise.

Frequently asked questions

RouterOS or SwOS on this switch?

For pure L2 switching SwOS is simpler and faster to configure; RouterOS is needed for L3 routing, ACLs and scripts. Switching between them is a standard bootloader option.

Which SFP+ modules are compatible?

Practically any standard ones: MikroTik, compatible 10G SR/LR optics, DAC cables. We match modules to your distances together with the switch.

Can it route between VLANs?

The CRS317 has no hardware L3 offload — routing goes through the CPU. Fine for light inter-VLAN traffic; for heavy L3 look at CRS3xx with offload or a CCR.
