CRS309-1G-8S+IN is a desktop switch with eight SFP+ ports at 10 Gbps and one gigabit copper port. The compact fanless case runs silently, which matters when there is no rack and the kit sits in an office or a small equipment room. The eight ten-gigabit ports usually go to servers, storage and the uplink — the standard layout for the server room of a small company that needs the speed but not a 48-port switch. Switching runs in hardware at port speed, while RouterOS adds routing, VLANs and firewall when they are needed. The copper port is used for management and for one ordinary device.
