How Much Does CCTV Cost: What Makes Up the Price

The cost of CCTV consists of four parts: cameras, a recorder with a hard drive, cabling with consumables, and installation with setup. In a typical estimate, hardware takes 60–70 % and labor the rest. More cameras and higher resolution mean more of both: every camera is a cable run, mounting hardware and a point to configure.

Archive depth is its own line. Storing 30 days instead of 7 needs a drive several times larger: eight 2 MP cameras recording continuously fill roughly a terabyte a week. Site conditions matter too: ceiling height, distance to the recorder, wall chasing — or, conversely, the option to run trunking over a finished interior.

An apartment or small house with 2 cameras, a recorder and a disk is the entry level: Wi-Fi cameras start at 197 900 UZS, wired 2 MP IP cameras at 209 900 UZS, the simplest recorder costs 308 900 UZS and a four-channel one from 320 900 UZS. A shop or office with 4–8 cameras is the middle segment: it adds a PoE switch, a proper 4–6 TB drive (a 4 TB Seagate SkyHawk is 1 768 900 UZS) and a day or two of installation.

A warehouse, factory or grounds from 8–16 cameras is quoted only from a design: outdoor cameras with 30–80 m IR, fiber or radio links to far corners, and a cabinet with a UPS enter the picture. Two sites with equal camera counts can differ twofold because of cable runs and conditions — so an honest answer to "how much" starts with an engineer's visit, which is free with us.

On our price list, the work for a single camera comes down to three lines: mounting an indoor camera costs 155 000 UZS, an outdoor one 180 000, configuration and commissioning 77 000 (34 000 + 43 000), and if you want to watch from a phone, remote access setup adds 170 000. One camera comes with an important caveat: the minimum installation order is 560 000 UZS, so a crew visit for a single point is billed at no less than that. That is why a second camera on the same site costs noticeably less than the first.

Scenario one — a Wi-Fi camera for a flat. The indoor pan-tilt Tapo C201 costs 197 900 UZS and records to a microSD card, so it needs neither a recorder nor a cable run. Work at list prices: 155 000 + 77 000 + 170 000 = 402 000 UZS, which is below the minimum order, so the bill is 560 000. The total is about 758 000 UZS plus a memory card bought separately. Two such cameras: 395 800 for equipment and 634 000 for work — about 1 030 000 UZS, so the second camera adds only around 272 000.

Scenario two — an IP camera on the façade with a recorder. The HiLook HL-IPC-B121HE-UC 2 MP bullet camera with PoE power costs 221 900 UZS, the four-channel HiLook HL-NVR-104H-D recorder 382 900, a 500 GB Seagate SkyHawk drive 184 900, an 802.3af PoE injector 161 900 (this recorder has no built-in PoE ports), and 20 metres of UTP cat.5e cable at 6 090 per metre 121 800. Equipment comes to 1 073 400 UZS. Work: outdoor camera 180 000, configuration 77 000, recorder 280 000, remote access 170 000, laying 20 m of cable at 7 000 per metre 140 000 — 847 000 in total. Altogether about 1.92 million UZS; conduit adds 9 000 per metre.

Going by the estimate above (roughly a terabyte a week for eight cameras), 500 GB holds about three to four weeks of continuous recording from one 2 MP camera, and a 1 TB drive (704 900) about two months, which brings the total to around 2.44 million. Equipment prices are catalogue prices as of 10.10.2026; we confirm the exact figure after a free site visit, because mounting height, cable length and wall chasing change the estimate.

An apartment usually needs 1–2 cameras, a shop or office 4–8, a warehouse or grounds 8 and up. The exact number follows the tasks: cover the entrances, the till, storage zones and blind corners. Overview cameras answer "what is happening"; identification cameras answer "who is it": a face at the entrance needs a closer camera with more resolution than a general view of the floor.

More cameras is not always better. One well-placed 4 MP camera with the right lens covers a zone more effectively than two cheap ones installed "for the count". Money saved on redundant points is better invested in camera quality on key directions and in archive depth.

Reasonable savings: HiLook instead of higher Hikvision lines for secondary zones, no cloud subscriptions when a local archive suffices, no 4K premium where 2–4 MP does the job. Analog HDCVI kits still win on price when upgrading sites with coax already in the walls.

Never save on three things: cameras in key zones (till, entrance, goods-in), the hard drive — a desktop drive is not built for 24/7 recording and dies first — and the installation. Twisted joints instead of connectors, undersized power runs and "default settings" surface six months later, and redoing costs more than the difference.
