Description
The Pixietech universal cassette stripper (yellow) is a tool for fast and safe removal of the outer jacket of low-voltage system cables: RG59/RG6/RG7/RG11 coaxial, UTP/STP twisted pair and flat telephone cables. The adjustable cutting depth protects conductors, braid and foil from damage, and the replaceable blade cassettes swap out completely in seconds without screwdrivers. The round cutout in the handle helps trim the cable squarely before stripping. The compact impact-resistant plastic body takes minimal space in an installer's bag.
In practice one such stripper covers the entire typical range of low-voltage installation tasks: preparing coax for F-connectors and BNC, stripping twisted pair before RJ45 crimping or punching down onto a patch panel, and terminating telephone runs. Working with the tool
Before the first strip, set the cutting depth on a cable offcut: the blade should cut through the jacket without touching the braid or conductor insulation. The cable is placed into the cassette, the tool is rotated around it two or three turns, and the jacket slides off like a sock. With coax it is important to check the foil and braid integrity after each cut; with twisted pair — to avoid nicking the pair insulation. When the blades dull, the whole cassette is replaced — keep a spare in the bag.
