Barrier types
The key parameters are boom length and duty cycle. A 3–4 m yard entrance is fine with a base drive at 50 % duty — a few hundred cycles a day. A business centre or mall needs an intensive drive (70–100 %) built for thousands of cycles, or the gearbox will not outlive the warranty.
Booms come round, rectangular and LED-lit; long openings take folding booms. In cold climates check for cabinet heating — budget drives freeze in winter.
Control: remote, phone, ANPR
Remotes are the base option: cheap, but they get lost and passed around. A phone call is better: a resident's number in the whitelist, a free call — the barrier opens. The top of convenience is plate recognition (ANPR): registered cars pass without stopping, guests are let in by the guard, every pass is logged with a photo.
ANPR pays off from about 50 cars: entrance queues disappear along with the who-opened-it disputes. Access-control integration adds one journal for gates and doors alike.
What makes up the price
An honest quote covers the drive with the boom, the foundation, an induction loop or safety photocells, the control unit and your chosen access method. On an unstable grid add a small UPS — a dead barrier blocks the whole yard.
We install ZKTeco and Hikvision barriers from Tashkent stock: turnkey in one-two days, with warranty and service. Send a photo and the opening width — you get an exact quote the same day.
FAQ
How much is a barrier with installation?
It depends on boom length, drive duty and the control method: a base yard kit costs less, an intensive ANPR setup more. The engineer visit and the estimate are free.
What happens during a power cut?
Drives have a manual release — the boom lifts with a key. Better, add a small UPS so the barrier rides through outages on its own.
Does a residential yard barrier need approvals?
A block-of-flats yard needs an owners' decision and district approvals — emergency vehicle access must remain. We help prepare the installation scheme for approval.
