How Much Does Access Control Cost

The minimum kit for a door: a controller, a reader, an electromagnetic or electromechanical lock, an exit button, a closer and a battery-backed power supply. From the catalogue it adds up like this: the Dahua DHI-ASC2202B-D controller at 763 900 UZS, the DHI-ASR2100H reader at 145 900 UZS, the 280 kg KANIHAD ML-280AS magnetic lock at 184 900 UZS, the Hikvision DS-K7P01 exit button at 110 900 UZS and the ML-S203 closer at 246 900 UZS — about 1 452 500 UZS of hardware, plus the power supply and the labour. The price climbs with the identification method, and the catalogue shows the gap plainly: a card reader is 145 900–184 900 UZS, the Hikvision DS-K1T804EF fingerprint terminal 791 900 UZS, and face recognition 877 900 UZS for the ZKTeco SenseFace 2A or 1 050 900 UZS for the Hikvision DS-K1T343MX. Moving from a card to a face therefore adds roughly 700–900 thousand UZS per door, but it removes the cards themselves — their issuing, losses and the "clock in for me" trick.

An office with 3–5 doors is already a networked system: controllers join one database, rights are assigned by group from one window. The budget does not grow linearly: the software and server are shared, and each new door adds only its own hardware kit. A turnstile entrance is a different league: the tripod turnstile itself, readers on both sides, a controller and a tie-in to time attendance.

An enterprise adds items rarely thought of in advance: anti-passback, mantraps for restricted zones, redundant power, and integration with the fire alarm to unlock evacuation doors — mandatory by code. That is why an enterprise estimate is calculated from a design, not from a "price per door".

First — the doors themselves. Access control mounts onto a door, and if the leaf is warped, the hinges sagged and the frame moves, electronics will not help: the lock will bind and the closer will slam. Sometimes the estimate gains a line called "bring the door into order" — more honest than handing over a system that does not work.

Second — administration. Who will enroll new staff and block leavers? We configure the system so your administrator does it in minutes, and we train them. Third — maintenance: batteries in power supplies live 2–3 years, and scheduled replacement is cheaper than a door stuck open at rush hour because the backup died.

What does not: skipping the battery in the power supply (the door stops at every power flicker), cheap locks on heavy doors, "no closer for now".
