The Bolid RIP-12 vers.50 (RIP-12-3/17M1-R-RS) backup power supply provides uninterruptible power to detectors, security and fire alarm devices, access control systems and fire automation systems as part of the ISS “Orion”. The device delivers a stable 12 V voltage with a maximum current of up to 4 A, supports a battery with a capacity of 17 Ah and is equipped with an RS-485 interface for integration into the system's addressable network. Multi-level protection and light indication make it a reliable power supply center for any facility.

Advantages

  • Uninterruptible operation: a built-in 17 Ah battery supports equipment operation during a power outage
  • RS-485 interface: full integration into the ISS “Orion” with monitoring of the UPS status over the data bus
  • Multi-level protection: protection against overvoltage, short circuit and reverse polarity extends the equipment's service life
  • Output current of 3 A (up to 4 A): sufficient to power several peripheral security system devices
  • Light and sound indication: the operator immediately learns of a switch to backup or a fault
  • Compatibility with Orion: designed specifically for the Bolid ecosystem, conflict-free operation is guaranteed

Applications

  • Security and fire alarm: powering detectors and security/fire alarm control panels within the ISS “Orion”
  • Access control systems: uninterruptible power for readers, controllers and electric locks
  • Fire automation: backup power for fire extinguishing and notification control modules
  • Industrial and administrative facilities: centralized power supply for security systems with monitoring over RS-485

Frequently asked questions

How long does the 17 Ah battery support system operation during a power outage?
The backup time depends on the total consumption of the connected devices; the calculation is performed during system design.
Can the status of the RIP-12 be monitored remotely?
Yes, the RS-485 interface allows information about the power supply status to be transmitted to the ISS “Orion” for centralized monitoring.
Is the device protected against incorrect battery connection?
Yes, built-in reverse polarity protection prevents damage in case of erroneous battery connection.
