The Dahua DHI-HY-1801 voice alarm and evacuation panel drives the voice alarm and evacuation management system. Instead of a single-tone siren it broadcasts spoken messages by zone: people hear what has happened and where to go. This approach noticeably shortens evacuation time and reduces panic in public buildings.
Advantages
- Spoken messages instead of a siren — people understand what to do, not just that something is wrong
- Zoning: different messages for the fire floor, adjacent floors and the rest of the building
- Microphone for live announcements by the operator in an unusual situation
- Integration with the fire panel — scenarios start automatically on alarm
- Supervision of alarm circuits and backup power
Applications
- Shopping centers, cinemas and entertainment complexes
- Hotels, dormitories and medical facilities
- Educational institutions and administrative buildings
- Industrial sites with large workforces
Frequently asked questions
How does voice alarm differ from an ordinary siren?
A siren announces danger; voice alarm explains where to move. For many building types a voice system is required by design.
Can the alarm be staged floor by floor?
Yes, the evacuation scenario is set during commissioning: the fire floor and its neighbors are alerted first, then the rest — this keeps stairwells from overloading.
Who records the messages?
Standard phrases are preloaded, additional ones are recorded for the specific site. The language of the announcements is chosen by the client.
