The Dahua DHI-HY-BM-1712 addressable device programmer is a tool for installers and service engineers. It assigns addresses to detectors and modules before installation, reads current settings and verifies that a device is healthy before it goes up on the ceiling. Without a programmer, addressing turns into slow work through the panel.
Advantages
- Fast addressing at the bench, before anyone climbs to ceiling height
- Detector health check before installation — defects surface immediately
- Reading and changing addresses during maintenance and device replacement
- Saves hours on large sites with hundreds of addressable devices
- Works with HY-series detectors and modules
Applications
- Installation of new fire alarm systems
- Service work and replacement of failed devices
- Extending existing systems with new detectors
- Loop diagnostics during fault-finding
Frequently asked questions
Is a programmer mandatory for installation?
Part of the work can be done through the panel, but on sites with many devices a programmer saves considerable time.
Can the address of an already installed detector be changed?
Yes, the device is taken off its base, the address is changed with the programmer and the detector is refitted.
Does the client need a programmer after handover?
It usually stays with the maintenance company. If the site is serviced by its own staff, buying the tool makes sense.
