The Hikvision DS-2CD1383G0-I dome IP camera is a solution for tasks where maximum detail is critical: 4K (3840×2160) resolution on a 1/2.5" Progressive CMOS sensor with IR illumination up to 30 meters. Four times more pixels than Full HD means the ability to see license plates, facial features, and small details at distances inaccessible to lower-class cameras. H.265+ compression keeps the archive size within reasonable bounds even with 4K recording.
Advantages
- 4K resolution (3840×2160): maximum detail for serious identification tasks
- 1/2.5" Progressive CMOS sensor: a large sensor ensures clarity in varying lighting
- IR illumination up to 30 m: reliable night capture without additional lighting
- H.265+/H.265 codecs: efficient compression of the 4K stream to save disk space
- DC12V or PoE power: standard connection without additional adapters
- 2.8 mm lens: a wide viewing angle with 4K detail across the entire field
Applications
- Banks and financial sites: 4K recording of checkout areas for a reliable evidentiary basis
- Jewelry stores and boutiques: detailed capture of merchandise, customers, and staff
- Entrances and checkpoints: clear reading of license plates and face recognition
- Data centers and server rooms: strict access control with high-detail video recording
- Airports and transport hubs: monitoring of flows with the possibility of after-the-fact analysis
Frequently asked questions
Is a special NVR needed to record 4K video?
The recorder must support 4K (8 MP) resolution and the H.265+ codec; verify compatibility when choosing a kit.
Isn't a 2.8 mm lens too wide for 4K?
On the contrary, a wide angle combined with 4K resolution allows capturing a large scene while still making out details in any part of the frame.
How does 4K affect storage volume?
H.265+ compression significantly reduces the bitrate; nonetheless, for a comfortable archive it is recommended to plan storage at no less than 2 TB per camera to retain several weeks of recording.
