Hikvision DS-3WG210GP-SI PoE router — a 10-port gigabit router with a 75 W PoE budget, built to power and route the traffic of IP cameras and network equipment in mid-scale security systems. The device combines the functions of a PoE switch, a router, and a firewall: 8 gigabit PoE ports power the cameras, two WAN ports provide connection redundancy, and built-in DDoS protection and VPN support guarantee the security of video stream transmission. This is a compact all-in-one solution for organizing a protected surveillance network without the need for a separate PoE switch.

Advantages

  • 8 gigabit PoE ports with a 75 W budget — power and data transmission for several cameras over a single cable
  • Built-in router and firewall — a single device instead of three: switch, router, network protection
  • IPsec and L2TP VPN — encrypted channels for secure video transmission to remote servers or the cloud
  • Two WAN ports with redundancy — automatic switching to a backup provider when the primary one fails
  • DDoS protection and traffic filtering — protecting the surveillance network from external attacks and unauthorized access
  • 1000 Mbit/s throughput — support for several high-quality video streams without bottlenecks

Applications

  • Small stores, pharmacies and offices — an all-in-one for rapid surveillance deployment
  • Sites with several IP cameras — power and routing without additional switches
  • Branches with remote access — a secure VPN tunnel for centralized monitoring from headquarters
  • Residential houses and cottage settlements — a reliable surveillance network with a backup internet channel
  • Construction sites and temporary facilities — rapid deployment, minimal equipment

Frequently asked questions

Is 75 W of PoE enough to power 8 cameras simultaneously?
It depends on the consumption of each camera; standard dome cameras consume 7–15 W, which allows powering from 5 to 8 devices in a typical configuration.
Can this router be used without the PoE function — simply as a router?
Yes, the device works fully as a gigabit router with firewall and VPN even without connecting PoE devices.
How is automatic switching to the backup WAN configured?
Redundancy is configured through the web interface: the primary and backup provider, the channel availability check method, and the switching time are specified.
