Hikvision DS-TCG406-E ANPR camera is a 4-megapixel IP camera with progressive scan, developed for accurate license-plate recognition in access-control and video-recording systems. The 1/1.8" CMOS sensor and a resolution of 2688×1520 pixels provide a detailed image for reliable plate reading. A motorized varifocal lens in two variants (2.8-12 mm or 8-32 mm) allows the focus and field of view to be tuned precisely without physically moving the camera. Combined illumination of white light and IR diodes guarantees high-quality shots at any time of day.

Advantages

  • 4 MP resolution (2688×1520): a detailed image for reliable plate reading even when the plate is partially dirty
  • Motorized varifocal lens: remote tuning of focus and zoom without the installer climbing up to the camera
  • Two lens variants: 2.8-12 mm and 8-32 mm for near and far control lanes
  • Combined illumination (white + IR): color shots at dusk and a clear black-and-white picture at night
  • 1/1.8" CMOS sensor: high light sensitivity ensures quality in any lighting
  • Integration with access control: relay output and Wiegand for direct management of gates and barrier gates

Applications

  • Entry groups to the grounds of residential complexes, offices, and shopping centers
  • Parking lots with automatic identification of regular customers and subscribers
  • Systems for video recording of violations on roads and in protected zones
  • Checkpoints of industrial enterprises with a vehicle entry log

Frequently asked questions

What is the advantage of 4 MP over 2 MP for plate recognition?
Higher resolution allows plates to be read reliably at a greater distance, a wider angle, and with partial dirtying of the plate.
How do you choose between the 2.8-12 mm and 8-32 mm lenses?
The 2.8-12 mm lens is suitable for near zones up to 10-15 m, while the 8-32 mm lens is for long distances and high-speed lanes; the choice depends on the lane width and the distance to the flow.
Is a separate server required for ANPR operation?
The camera has built-in ANPR functions; for operation in a large-scale system, a management server may be required — SAT Solutions specialists will select the optimal configuration.
