Frequently asked questions
How does this differ from the ASC4204B-S?
The ASC4204B-S handles four doors with one-way passage; the ASC4202B-D handles two doors with readers on entry and exit. If accurate time tracking and anti-passback matter, the two-way model is the one to choose.
How many readers can be connected?
Up to nine: five over RS-485 and four over Wiegand. Wiegand is useful when a site already runs older readers that nobody wants to replace.
How is the controller linked to the fire alarm?
Through its alarm inputs: on a signal from the fire panel the controller releases the locks on escape routes. The logic is configured in the web interface.
