TP-Link DS106GPP is a desktop gigabit switch with support for the PoE++ standard (802.3bt), allowing it to power even the most power-hungry devices — panoramic cameras, Wi-Fi 6 access points, and video analytics units. The switch is equipped with a PoE auto-recovery function and an extended range mode of up to 250 meters, which makes it an indispensable tool for sites with long cable runs.

Advantages

  • One PoE++ port (802.3bt) powers devices with high power consumption that is unavailable for ordinary PoE+
  • An extended range of 250 m on the PoE ports expands the coverage area without additional amplifiers
  • PoE auto-recovery automatically reboots a frozen device without operator intervention
  • A 64 W budget with flexible distribution between three PoE+ ports and one PoE++
  • Support for 802.3af/at/bt type3 ensures compatibility with any standard PoE equipment
  • The compact desktop enclosure is convenient for installation at a workplace or in a small niche

Applications

  • Video surveillance with long runs: cameras in remote zones without running power
  • Wi-Fi 6 and 6E access points: powering power-hungry APs in hard-to-reach places
  • Protected perimeters: PTZ cameras and thermal imaging devices with high consumption
  • Small distributed sites: shops, warehouses, gas stations with long cable sections

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between PoE+ and PoE++ on the DS106GPP?
The PoE++ port (802.3bt) provides power of up to 60 W per device, which is twice as much as standard PoE+ (up to 30 W) — this is necessary for powerful cameras and Wi-Fi 6 access points.
How does PoE auto-recovery work?
The switch periodically checks the availability of the connected device and, if it freezes, automatically turns the power on the port off and back on.
Does the extended range of 250 m work with any cable?
The 250 m mode is activated in a special extended mode and is designed for Cat5e/Cat6 cable; in this case the port speed is reduced to 10 Mbit/s.
