The Bolid S2000-IP-03 heat detector responds both to exceeding a temperature threshold and to the rate of rise — the latter allows a fire to be found earlier, before the critical value is reached. The heat principle is indispensable where smoke detectors constantly give false alarms: kitchens and hot workshops, boiler rooms, garages and car parks.

What does the rate-of-rise channel give you?
It catches a sharp rise in temperature before the threshold is reached. With a fast-developing fire that is a gain of minutes.
Can a heat detector be used instead of a smoke detector everywhere?
No, it responds later. It is used only where a smoke detector would give false alarms.
Is the detector suitable for an unheated garage?
The operating temperature range is stated in the datasheet. For cold spaces a suitable version is selected.
