Description

The Hikvision DS-K2702WX-E1 network access controller manages two doors in the base configuration and serves as the core of a scalable access control system: with DS-K2M002X expansion modules the system grows to 126 doors without replacing the central unit. The controller ships in a metal cabinet with a lock — the electronics are protected from tampering and installation is simplified. The solution suits offices, industrial facilities and educational institutions where the access system grows together with the site.

Communication with the modules runs over a redundant RS-485 bus: if one line is damaged, data exchange continues over the second one and the doors are never left uncontrolled. The controller supports flexible passage scenarios and schedules, while integration with Hikvision video surveillance links access events to cameras and the video archive. Readers connect via RS-485 (OSDP) or Wiegand — cards, PIN codes and Hikvision QR readers work in a single system.

Advantages

  • 2 doors in the base unit, scaling to 126 doors with DS-K2M002X modules
  • Redundant RS-485 bus increases system resilience
  • Metal cabinet with a lock included
  • Flexible passage scenarios and schedules
  • Integration with Hikvision video surveillance
  • Readers via OSDP and Wiegand: cards, PIN, QR

Applications

  • Office buildings
  • Industrial facilities
  • Business centers
  • Educational institutions

Installation and setup

The controller cabinet is placed in a server room or a protected technical room, close to the power supply and the door wiring. The RS-485 bus to the expansion modules is laid along two independent routes — only then does the redundancy truly work. Locks, exit buttons and door position sensors connect to the door modules, while the system is configured over the network from Hikvision software. The design should include headroom in the door count: adding a module to an existing bus is easier than rebuilding the system. The controller is in stock at our Tashkent warehouse; we design and install turnkey access control systems.

Frequently asked questions

How many doors does the system control?
The base controller handles 2 doors; with DS-K2M002X expansion modules the system scales to 126 doors.
Which readers can be connected?
Any with RS-485 (OSDP) or Wiegand interfaces — including Hikvision card, PIN and QR readers.
What happens if the connection to the server is lost?
The controller keeps working autonomously: credentials and events are stored locally and synchronized once the connection is restored.
How does the access system link to video surveillance?
Through the Hikvision platform: passage events are tied to cameras, so the operator sees who actually went through the door.
