The Hikvision DS-K7PEB/Green emergency door release is installed on escape routes: in a fire or other emergency the glass is broken, power is removed from the electromagnetic lock and the door opens mechanically — regardless of the state of the controller or the network. The green housing is the standard for emergency exits.

Is such a release mandatory if there is an access control controller?
Yes. A controller can fail or lose power, so codes require an independent mechanical break in the lock circuit.
How does it differ from an ordinary exit button?
An ordinary button sends a signal to the controller. An emergency release physically breaks the lock's power circuit, bypassing all electronics.
What do you do after it has been used?
Replace the glass and return the unit to its initial state. Keeping spare glasses on site is advisable — we include them in the supply.
