The Pixietech PXT-CVT-100B media converter is a mirror counterpart to the CVT-100A model: it converts the signal from a 10/100Base-T copper line into 100Base-FX optics with inverted wavelengths of Tx 1550 nm and Rx 1310 nm. Such a pair of converters makes it possible to organize bidirectional data transmission over a single optical fiber (WDM technology), halving cable consumption. The solution is relevant for sites where laying additional fiber-optic lines is difficult or economically impractical.
