The Pixietech SFP WDM module at 1550 nm with an LC Simplex connector is a compact transceiver for single-fiber optical lines with a range of up to 3 km. The device is aimed at engineers and integrators who need to deploy a high-speed communication channel within a single site or between neighboring buildings without spending resources on additional cable. LC Simplex provides convenient and compact installation in mounting cabinets.

Advantages

  • Range up to 3 km: solves the tasks of on-site and nearby inter-building optical channels
  • Operation over a single fiber: WDM allows halving the number of fibers used
  • LC Simplex connector: minimal dimensions, simplified connection in a crowded patch panel
  • 6 dB line budget: sufficient for short routes with a small number of splices and connectors
  • 1550 nm wavelength: paired with the 1310 nm module to establish duplex
  • 1-year warranty: Pixietech quality standard

Applications

  • Local optical networks in commercial, administrative, and industrial buildings
  • IP video surveillance with optical connection of switches at remote areas
  • Data transmission channels in fire safety and security systems
  • Redundancy of communication channels between neighboring network nodes

Frequently asked questions

Why does this module have a 1550 nm wavelength and not 1310 nm?
The WDM system works on the principle of wavelength separation: one end of the line transmits at 1310 nm and receives at 1550 nm, the other the opposite. This module is installed where transmission at 1550 nm is needed.
Is there a risk of mixing up the pair during installation?
If both ends of the line are equipped with modules of the same wavelength, the connection will not be established. Always check that one end has 1310 nm and the other 1550 nm.
Does SAT Solutions supply modules with patch cords included?
Patch cords and modules can be ordered as a set. Check availability and configuration with the company's managers.
