TP-Link SG2218P is an Omada series managed gigabit switch for 19" rack mounting, combining 16 RJ45 ports with PoE support and two optical SFP slots for uplinks. The total 150 W PoE budget provides simultaneous power for a large number of devices: IP cameras, access points and IP phones. The Omada SDN platform allows managing the switch centrally together with other network equipment.

Advantages

  • 16 gigabit PoE ports with a 150 W budget power and network numerous devices
  • Two gigabit SFP slots provide a reliable optical uplink to the network core
  • The 19" rack form factor simplifies mounting in standard telecommunications cabinets
  • Management via Omada SDN, CLI and SNMP allows scaling the network without changing the management platform
  • 802.3at/af standards are compatible with all common PoE equipment
  • Gigabit ports guarantee sufficient bandwidth for video and VoIP

Applications

  • Corporate offices: centralized switching of all floor devices from the server room
  • Retail and business centers: powering Wi-Fi access points and video surveillance systems
  • Hotels: a single switch for telephony, video surveillance and guest Wi-Fi
  • Educational institutions: connecting interactive whiteboards, cameras and access points on a floor
  • Industrial sites: reliable rack switching for process networks

Frequently asked questions

How many PoE ports does the SG2218P switch have?
All 16 RJ45 ports support PoE to the 802.3at/af standards; the SFP slots are intended only for uplinks and do not support PoE.
Is management without an Omada controller supported?
Yes, full configuration is possible via the web interface, CLI or SNMP; the Omada Cloud controller is only needed for centralized management of multiple devices.
Can the SG2218P be used as an access switch in a hierarchical network?
Yes, this is one of the typical scenarios: the 16 PoE ports connect end-user devices, while the two SFP ports act as uplinks to a distribution switch.
