MikroTik wAP LTE kit (wAPR-2nD&EC200A-EU)

wAP LTE kit is an all-weather access point with a built-in LTE modem in an outdoor case — the refreshed version with a new modem.

The main advantage of mounting outside is signal quality. The modem sits outdoors, where reception is markedly better than for a router on a windowsill behind double glazing and a wall. Where indoor coverage barely holds, a unit on the façade or a mast works confidently.

Wi-Fi is served right there, and a gigabit port can be run into the building on cable. PoE power means only twisted pair goes to the installation point — no socket, no power brick outdoors. Typical uses: a country house, a site without wired internet, a backup channel in case the main one fails.
