Description
The Pixietech slide-out 24-port fiber patch panel (19", 1U) is built for server rooms and network nodes where cross-connections change often and racks are densely packed. The chassis rides on telescopic rails and slides out of the rack, opening access to cassettes and adapters without dismounting the unit or disconnecting live lines. The steel body protects fibers from mechanical damage, removable cassettes simplify splicing, and port labels sit on the front panel. It is the choice of engineers who have to splice extra fibers and re-patch lines in a running infrastructure.
In a classic 1U panel you must remove the cover or pull the whole chassis out, disturbing neighboring equipment. The slide-out design removes that risk: the fiber slack stored in the cassettes is sized for the full travel of the rails, so lines are never strained. The panel terminates the optical backbone: the cable enters the enclosure, fibers are spliced onto pigtails and patched to active equipment. Panels and the full range of optical passives are stocked in our Tashkent warehouse — we can match adapters and pigtails to the polish type and do the splicing.
Advantages
- Slide-out on telescopic rails without dismounting the chassis
- Maintenance without disconnecting live lines
- 24 ports in a 19", 1U format
- Removable cassettes for convenient splicing
- Steel body protecting the fibers
- Port labeling on the front panel
Applications
- Densely packed data center racks
- Nodes with frequent cross-connect changes
- Enterprise server rooms
- Carrier access nodes
- Backbone cross-connect rooms in office buildings
Mounting and connection
Install the panel in the rack so that there is room for the full travel of the rails in front of it, and leave enough cable slack for the chassis to slide out. Fix the cable at the entry point, anchor the strength member to the body, and splice fibers onto pigtails in the cassettes while respecting bend radii. Label the ports on the front panel right at splicing time — it saves hours later when tracing a line. Patch to active equipment with cords of the matching polish type: UPC for most links, APC for video paths. A cable organizer is usually placed next to the panel to take up patch-cord slack.
