Description
This 24-port 19" optical distribution frame, 1U high, is designed for installation in a telecom rack or cabinet. The steel body carries a front panel for 24 adapters; inside there are splice trays for fusion splices and a service loop of fiber. Cable entries with strength-member fixing relieve mechanical load from the fibers. It is the standard fiber termination node in a server room or communication site.
The ODF turns the incoming trunk cable into a tidy field of outlets: each fiber is spliced to a pigtail, laid into a tray and brought out to an adapter on the front panel. This organization simplifies patching, OTDR measurements and troubleshooting — the line is documented by port labeling. In operation the frame is complemented by patch cords linking the panel to switches and media converters.
Advantages

- Front panel for 24 adapters
- Trays for splices and spare fiber
- Strength-member fixing at the cable entry
- Port labeling for line documentation
- Steel body protects the fibers from damage
Applications
- Server rooms and communication sites
- Corporate data centers
- Carrier cabinets
- Floor distributors of business centers
- Backbone nodes of fiber networks
Mounting and connection
The frame is fixed in the rack at a convenient height — usually next to the switches, so patch cords do not stretch across the whole cabinet. The cable enters through the gland, the strength member is fixed, the fibers are spliced to pigtails and laid into the trays observing bend radii. SC or LC adapters are installed in the panel to match the site's connector base. After installation the ports are labeled and unused adapters are closed with dust caps. From the warehouse in Tashkent the frame ships together with pigtails, adapters and patch cords — the whole node is sourced from one supplier.
