The Pixietech PXT-TCT-1.0/60 heat-shrink splice protector, 60 mm long, is a standard element for protecting fusion splices of optical fibers. After splicing two fibers, the sleeve is slid to the splice location and shrunk in the splicer's heater, forming a rigid protective shell. The product ensures the durability of the splice connection and is compatible with the trays of most fusion splicers.

Advantages

  • The standard 60 mm splice protector format is compatible with the heaters of almost all fusion splicers
  • Reliable fixation of the joint eliminates fiber breakage when laying it in the cassette of a closure or cross-connect
  • The reinforcing rod inside the sleeve provides the necessary rigidity in the connection zone
  • Fast shrinking reduces the total cable splicing time on site
  • Suitable for standard-diameter fibers used in backbone and site cables
  • A 1-year warranty confirms the consistent quality of Pixietech products

Applications

  • Splicing fibers in optical closures and cross-connects
  • Building backbone and site fiber-optic lines
  • Repairing and restoring damaged optical cables
  • Installing video surveillance and security systems with optical infrastructure
  • Scheduled maintenance of existing optical networks in Uzbekistan

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between PXT-TCT-1.0/60 and PXT-TCT-3.2/60?
The models differ in inner diameter: 1.0 mm — for standard buffered fibers, 3.2 mm — for thin FTTH fibers with a smaller buffer.
Does the sleeve need to be lubricated before shrinking?
No, no additional treatment is required; the sleeve shrinks under the influence of the heater's temperature.
How many sleeves are used per closure?
One sleeve per spliced fiber; the quantity depends on the number of fibers in the cable.
