The TP-Link SM321B SFP module is the B side for single-fiber lines up to 10 kilometers long: it links remote sites, branches and premises across a city while saving fibers in the backbone cable. It is paired with an A-side module. LC simplex connector, gigabit speed, compatible with TP-Link switches and other devices with an SFP slot.

How does this model differ from the SM321B-2?
In range: this one goes up to 10 kilometers, the version with index 2 up to 2 kilometers. The choice depends on the length of the line.
Must an A-side module be fitted at the other end?
Yes, a WDM pair works on opposing wavelengths. Two identical modules will not bring the channel up.
Does the quality of fiber splicing affect range?
Significantly: losses at joints and splices eat into the link budget. We measure the line with an OTDR during commissioning.
