The TP-Link MC112CS media converter provides conversion of the signal between twisted pair and single-mode optical fiber at a speed of 10/100 Mbps. The transmission range over single-mode cable is up to 20 km, which allows geographically separated sites to be linked without loss. The device operates in a pair with the MC111CS using a WDM scheme: Tx 1310 nm / Rx 1550 nm, providing bidirectional transmission over a single fiber.
