Ubiquiti NanoStation Loco 5AC is a compact outdoor 5 GHz (802.11ac) access point with a built-in 13 dBi directional antenna, designed for setting up wireless bridges and last-mile links at distances of up to 3 km. IP67 protection and an operating temperature range from -40 to +80 °C ensure reliable operation in the harshest conditions of the Uzbek climate — from mountain sites to hot industrial zones. MIMO 2×2 technology guarantees a stable speed of up to 300 Mbit/s over the wireless channel.
Advantages
- Range up to 3 km: links remote buildings, warehouses and checkpoints without laying cable
- IP67 protection: full dust protection and resistance to immersion — the equipment works in rain and dust storms
- Temperature range -40…+80 °C: uninterrupted operation in both frost and summer heat
- Built-in 13 dBi antenna: directional signal gain without additional costs for external antennas
- Speed up to 300 Mbit/s (802.11ac): sufficient for IP video surveillance, VoIP and corporate applications
- MIMO 2×2: a stable connection with multipath signal propagation
Applications
- Wireless bridges between buildings: connecting enterprise buildings without laying fiber or copper
- Setting up the last mile: connecting remote sites to the main network
- IP video surveillance systems: wireless transmission of the video stream from outdoor cameras to a server
- Perimeter and checkpoint security: a reliable communication channel at industrial sites
- Suburban complex grounds: Wi-Fi coverage in open areas and between buildings
Frequently asked questions
Can the Loco 5AC be used as an access point for clients or only as a bridge?
The device can operate in access point, bridge, station and repeater modes — the configuration is set through the airOS interface.
Is it necessary to purchase the antenna separately?
No, the built-in 13 dBi antenna is already part of the device's design — no additional antennas are required.
How is the Loco 5AC powered outdoors?
Power is supplied via PoE through an Ethernet cable; a passive PoE injector is usually included, which eliminates the need to run a separate power cable.
