The Dahua DHI-HY-BD1 beam smoke detector protects large, high spaces where point detectors are useless: smoke takes too long to reach the ceiling or disperses on the way. The detector works with a beam between a transmitter and a receiver and registers smoke along the whole path — tens of meters covered by a single device.

Frequently asked questions
At what height is a beam detector installed?
Usually just below the ceiling, along a path free of obstacles. The exact height and path length are calculated in the design from the room geometry.
What interferes with the beam?
Racking, overhead cranes and suspended equipment crossing the path. The layout is planned so the beam stays clear.
How is the device maintained?
The optics are cleaned periodically and alignment is checked. The unit reports contamination to the panel before it affects performance.
