Description
The Pixietech 8-port plastic fiber distribution box is a distribution point for indoor and sheltered outdoor installation. The ABS plastic housing with a gasketed cover and cable glands shields the fibers from dust and accidental contact. Inside there is a splice tray, seats for adapters and a slot for a low-ratio PLC splitter, 1×4 to 1×8. Eight ports cover the needs of a residential floor or a small office building.
In FTTH networks such boxes are installed on floors as intermediate points between the backbone cable and subscriber drops: the backbone enters the box, fibers are spliced, and subscribers are fed through the splitter. The lightweight housing mounts on a wall with a pair of screws, takes no rack units and costs noticeably less than metal equivalents. The gasketed cover allows installation in sheltered outdoor niches — under a canopy or inside a vandal-proof cabinet. Boxes, splitters, adapters and pigtails are stocked in our Tashkent warehouse; we can assemble a floor distribution kit for your project.

Mounting and connection
Mount the box on a wall in a spot protected from direct precipitation and mechanical impact — on a floor landing, in a niche or in a low-voltage cabinet. Feed the backbone cable through the sealed gland, fix it, then lay the fibers into the tray observing bend radii and splice them onto pigtails. For passive optical distribution, a 1×4 or 1×8 PLC splitter goes inside, with its outputs patched to subscriber ports. Adapters and pigtails are matched to the connector and polish type — for GPON it is usually SC/APC. Unused ports are closed with dust caps so no dust settles on the ferrules.
