The Pixietech PXT-ATT-MF-LC-10dB optical attenuator with 10 dB attenuation and Male-Female design for the LC connector is intended for reducing the optical signal level directly at the input port of receiving equipment. The Male-Female form factor allows the attenuator to be inserted directly into the port socket as an extension adapter, without breaking the cable run. Suitable for densely packed switching nodes with LC interfaces.

Advantages

  • The Male-Female design allows the attenuator to be installed directly into the equipment port, eliminating the need for an additional adapter
  • 10 dB attenuation effectively protects the photodetector from overload on short links and between adjacent racks
  • The compact LC connector makes the attenuator especially convenient in high-density patch panels
  • The passive, power-free design simplifies operation and increases reliability
  • A 1-year warranty from Pixietech confirms the stability of the parameters

Applications

  • SFP optical transceivers in switches and routers at short distances between racks
  • Data centers with high-density LC interfaces
  • Power balancing in corporate optical networks
  • Test and measurement setups with LC ports

Frequently asked questions

What does the Male-Female design of an optical attenuator mean?
The attenuator has a plug (Male) connector on one side for insertion into an equipment port or adapter, and a socket (Female) connector on the other side for connecting a patch cord.
Can the MF-LC attenuator be used on SFP transceivers?
Yes, the Male-Female LC attenuator is inserted directly into the SFP transceiver, and the patch cord is connected to the other side of the attenuator.
Does the attenuator affect the data transmission rate?
No, a passive attenuator reduces only the power of the optical signal without affecting the data transmission rate and format.
