The Pixietech PXT-FTTH-FC-SC/APC fast connector of the SC/APC type is designed for the rapid termination of FTTH cables with an angle-polished end face (APC). The angle polish provides a reduced level of back reflections, which is especially important in PON passive optical networks and cable television systems. Installation is performed without a fusion splicer, which significantly speeds up subscriber connection on the last section of the line.

Advantages

  • APC (8°) polish reduces back reflections, improving signal quality in PON and CATV networks
  • Splice-free installation allows subscribers to be connected quickly without bringing bulky equipment
  • The SC/APC connector is compatible with most modern ONUs, ONTs, and splitters
  • The fiber locking mechanism prevents displacement after installation and maintains stable losses
  • The compact connector size simplifies work in distribution boxes
  • A 1-year warranty provides confidence in the reliability of the connection throughout operation

Applications

  • Subscriber lines in GPON and EPON passive optical networks
  • Connecting subscriber terminals in residential buildings and business centers
  • Cable television networks with optical signal delivery
  • "Last mile" installation when building FTTH infrastructure
  • Repairing and replacing damaged connections in existing networks

Frequently asked questions

What is the fundamental difference between SC/APC and SC/UPC?
SC/APC has an end face beveled at 8°, which significantly reduces back reflection; SC/UPC is used where this parameter is less critical.
Can an SC/APC connector be plugged into an SC/UPC port?
The connection is mechanically possible but will lead to increased losses and damage to the end faces; this option is not recommended.
What tool is needed to install the connector?
A fiber cleaver and a stripper for removing the jacket will be needed; a fusion splicer is not required.
