Description

The Pixietech SFP28 optical transceiver to the 25GBASE-LR standard carries data at 25 Gbps over single-mode fiber for up to 20 kilometers. The module is meant for backbone links and aggregation in data centers, where 10 Gbps is no longer enough but moving to 100G is overkill. The two-fiber LC Duplex connection fits standard optical infrastructure — there is no need to rebuild the cable routes.

Frequently asked questions

Will the module work in another vendor's switch?

The module follows the SFP28 MSA specification; hardware that checks vendor codes may require firmware coded for that specific brand — check your switch model with the SAT Solutions team.

Can it be used in a 10G SFP+ port?

SFP28 ports are backward compatible with SFP+, but a 25G module should not be put into a 10G port — it would run only at the port speed, if the port accepts the transceiver at all.

How many fibers does the link need?

Two: one to transmit, one to receive. If only a single fiber is free, use the W37/W73 WDM modules.
