Description
The Pixietech SFP28 25G optical module with WDM runs over one fiber instead of two: it transmits at 1330 nm and receives at 1270 nm. That halves the fiber a link consumes, which matters on leased lines and in cable routes that are already full. The module works as a pair with PXT-SFP28-W73-20, whose wavelengths are mirrored.

Frequently asked questions
Why is a paired module required?
WDM works on opposing wavelengths: this one transmits at 1330 nm and receives at 1270 nm, while its pair does the reverse. Two identical modules will not see each other.
What happens if W37 is installed at both ends?
The link will not come up: both would transmit on the same wavelength and listen on the other. You need the W37 + W73 pair.
How many such pairs fit into one fiber?
One pair per fiber. More channels require CWDM/DWDM multiplexers.
