CRS354-48G-4S+2Q+RM is an access switch with 48 gigabit ports plus four SFP+ (10 Gbps) and two QSFP+ (40 Gbps) in a 1U case. Forty-eight ports means a floor of an office building or a large department in full: workstations, printers, phones, access points. Four ten-gigabit and two forty-gigabit ports leave uplink headroom that holds up even with every copper port loaded. Hardware switching keeps throughput independent of CPU load, while RouterOS adds VLANs, routing, firewall and monitoring.
