LHG 60G is subscriber equipment for the 60 GHz band, working at distances up to 800 meters. The 60 GHz band is almost unoccupied by other networks, so the link does not suffer the interference that eats speed in the crowded 5 GHz range in a city.
The price is a line-of-sight requirement: the beam is narrow and does not go around obstacles. When that condition is met, speed approaches a gigabit and latency is low enough for video and telephony.
The unit connects to a 60 GHz base station as a subscriber — for instance to bring internet into a building where laying fiber is not worth it. PoE powered, outdoor case.
