The MikroTik netPower 16P is an outdoor PoE switch in a weatherproof body: sixteen gigabit PoE-out ports and two SFP+ cages for fiber uplinks. Born to live on a pole or a facade: it powers cameras and radio links right at the installation point, with no heated cabinet and no long power runs.

Frequently asked questions

Does it really need no cabinet?

The body is sealed and outdoor-rated; a small box is usually added to tidy and protect the cable terminations, but a heated thermal cabinet is not required.

How far from the node can it be placed?

Over fiber through SFP+ — kilometers: the distance is limited only by the modules. That is exactly what an outdoor switch with fiber uplinks is designed for.

What about lightning protection?

Earthing is mandatory, and Ethernet surge protectors go onto critical lines. We design nodes with this by default — a storm must not take out the ports.
