CRS328-24P-4S+RM is a 1U rack switch with 24 gigabit PoE-out ports and four 10 Gbps SFP+. Its main use is powering and connecting a large number of cameras, access points and IP phones from one place.

PoE on all twenty-four ports removes the need for sockets and individual power supplies at each device: one cable carries both data and power. For a CCTV system of twenty to thirty cameras this is the standard answer.

Four ten-gigabit SFP+ take the traffic to the recording server or the network core — with many cameras a gigabit uplink is no longer enough. Management through RouterOS or SwOS: VLANs, rate limits, per-port power control.

Frequently asked questions

Is it enough for 24 cameras?

Yes, that is its intended role: 24 PoE 802.3af/at ports with a 450 W total budget feed a full camera set, including outdoor units with IR.

What if a camera freezes?

Restart the port's power remotely from RouterOS: off and on — the camera reboots, no site visit needed.

Why four SFP+ on a camera switch?

Twenty-four high-resolution cameras already crowd a gigabit: 10G uplinks carry the video to the recorder without a bottleneck, with spare ports left for redundancy and a second route.
