The MikroTik CSS610-8P-2S+IN is an affordable PoE switch with 10G uplinks: eight gigabit ports with PoE-out and a 140 W total budget, plus two SFP+ cages. It runs lightweight SwOS — configured through a web interface in minutes, no RouterOS learning curve. One of the most cost-effective ways to power eight cameras and send the stream to the core over fiber.

Advantages

  • 8 PoE-out ports: cameras and access points powered over twisted pair
  • Two SFP+ 10G — an uplink with no bottleneck even at full load
  • A 140 W power budget with margin for winter heaters
  • SwOS: VLANs, port isolation and monitoring in a simple web UI
  • Metal body, passive cooling — silence

Applications

  • An 8-camera CCTV node with a fiber uplink
  • Powering Wi-Fi access points in an office or shop
  • A floor switch with 10G into the building rack
  • Small business: network and cameras on one device

Frequently asked questions

How does the CSS series differ from CRS?
CSS runs SwOS only — simple web configuration without L3 features. CRS also runs RouterOS. For the typical "power the cameras, hand off to the core" job, CSS is the better value.
Is 140 W enough for eight cameras?
Regular IP cameras draw 6–10 W — a twofold margin. Even with outdoor cameras' winter heaters the budget stays in the safe zone.
Can the two SFP+ ports be aggregated?
Yes, SwOS supports LACP — two ports combine into a resilient 20G link.
